So it appears I have one exam less in this exam period.
Shame! I was rather looking forward to it. I still have two? more exams
and a seminar paper comparing William of Baskerville and Sherlock Holmes.
I also have to read As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner, which is insanely uninviting.
Not only is the language hard, too many characters and points of view, there really isn`t much going on. The novel is confusing and written in a "stream of conciousness" which means, the characters` thoughts flow uncontrollably (you know like in Ulysses, by James Joyce). It interjects with MY stream of consciousness. I don`t know what that`s gonna produce, however, today I skipped through the chapters, ( I`ve read some already) and one chapter (Vardaman`s POW) only has one sentence, (actually, clause if we`re grammatically correct) that says:" My mother is a fish". Which I found somewhat endearing, random and it made me think of Old Gregg (maybe he is Vardy`s son or summik). Seriously, that "chapter" brightened up my day.
....I`m OLD GREEEEGGG!!!!!! Mothafucka! I`ve got a MANGINA!!!

Angry! Dickheads!
My stupid faculty won`t let me on an exam unless I pay 5 euros. Excuse me?!?! What am I paying these 5 euros for? Why did I not know about this? It`s not for that goddamned book, I had returned it before I fuckin` had to. I thought I had payed everything when I enrolled into this goddamned school!!! I hope I can go and pay tomorrow, and still sign up for that goddamned exam!
I WILL PASS THESE EXAMS! I WILL MAKE THE SEMINAR PAPER (and fail-it`s inevitable)!
I WILL READ FAULKNER AND WRITE THAT GODDAMNED ESSAY! I WILL GET DRUNK AFTER I`M FINISHED WITH THIS EXAM PERIOD! AND THEN FINALLY GET A JOB! I WILL GET THAT GODDAMNED DIPLOMA AFTER THOSE 3 (let`s be realistic 4...max 6) YEARS AND GRADUATE!
Neither the school, or myself will ruin this!
Cheers and keep your fingers crossed for me...I`m off to study literary theory...

Music is my...
...And mostly all I have to say about these songs is that I love them, and I want to sing along to them, and force other people to listen to them, and get cross when these other people don`t like them as much as I do...
-Nick Hornby, 31 Songs, also Songbook
One of my favourite quotes about music I`ve ever heard. Isn`t that such a lovely sentiment? I completely relate to it, I didn`t even read the entire book (in it he describes 31 songs, that he likes and that have somehow changed or influenced his life), but this quote stuck out like a sore thumb to me when I first read it, I blushed and thought, "Oh my gosh, me too!!"... It still warms my heart.
The other thing in the book I liked was when he was explaining that you CAN actually leave a concert (he left a Led Zep concert to go eat and then came back, if I remember correctly), and then even come back, because I wouldn`t dare leave a concert in the middle of the show or leave early, I wouldn`t want to miss out!! The ones I did leave either weren`t on my own volition (compromises and parents *eyeroll*), or I just didn`t care enough for the performers.
Disclaimer: I don`t own or have made any of those pictures posted above, I`m just trying to make my blog prettier. Also, 31 Songs has been safely returned to the library ages ago.

Fangirl time nr.2
Now to keep it short my fangirl girl crushes...actually they`re really more like role models, but they`re also pretty imo.
1. Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine, 23?, she`s one of my favourite singers, I`m so happy I discovered her. I want her voice, career and legs.
2. Gemma Arterton, 23/24, English actress, can be see in both St Trinians, is/ was a Bond girl, Prince of Persia...I want her face.
3. Mette Lindberg, singer in a funky retro band from Denmark called The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. I like her voice, style, hair and attitude...I also want all of those and her face.
4. Robots In Disguise, an English (sometimes central European) electro-pop-punk girl duo. Consists of Dee Plume and Sue Denim. I only have Dee`s pictures, but I like Sue a lot too, especially her positive attitude and voice (speaking and singing)...
...all of `em.
At the end of all that, I don`t feel nearly as idiotic as I should...
P.S.: almost all of the pictures, in both posts came out too small.:/

Fangirl teim nao!
So, yesterday I was talking to a friend of mine about crushes. She`s waaay into the characters, like Brian in Queer as Folk, while I am into people behind them. I like musicians, comedians, actors, etc and spend way too much time looking them up.
I know it seems silly for a 20-year-old to still be making such lists, but I don`t act, think or live appropriately for my age...maybe 16...It`s a nice picspam and no Brad Pitt, sorry...
So here are my top 5 male crushes:
1. Noel Fielding, 36, comedian, actor, artist, writer and co-creator of the British TV, Radio, Live series of The Mighty Boosh. Funny, chatty, charismatic and charming, surrealist, imaginitive, fun, weirdly attractive, nice, accessible and has great taste in music and clothes.
...One with Russell Brand, he used to be pretty up there as well, and I still like him a lot so I guess I`ll just include him here, it`s ALL his fault anyway. His radio show when Noel Fielding co-hosted was better than sliced bread...or cheese.
YES!!!
2. Ville Valo, 33, lead singer, songwriter and frontman of the Finnish band called HIM. Well, me and Ville go way back to 2000 (first HIM explosion) and then 2003 and up until now, and probably forever. There`s been a bit of a drought in HIMland cause they`ve been making an album for a year now, but they`ll be back soon...in February I think. 3 new songs are up on the internet, they played them at Helldone recently.
3. Andrew Vanwnygarden, 26, lead singer, guitarist, co-songwriter and co-founder of the band MGMT (the other less appreciated member is Ben Goldwasser, will post him too, because I feel bad separating them and behaving like a total typical Andrew fangirl).
...I like hair in his face...
...daaw family shot..lol no Andrew???
...MGMT kittens
4. Perttu Kivilaakso, of the Finnish band Apocalyptica, plays a mean cello, likes to perform topless and in tight pants.
5. Alex Turner, lead singer, songwriter, guitarist in the Arctic Monkeys. I only recently started liking Arctic Monkeys (I liked Crying Lightning), and I still am not too big a fan of Whatever People Say...But I absolutely fucking adore Favourite Worst Nightmare...every single song. I love Alex`s silly writing, his accent, his long hair (I like long hair if you haven`t noticed by now), even his girlfriend.
Part 2 will soon follow...girls this time.
PS: Yes, I like my frontmen and frontwomen.

New Year 2010!!!
Wow...what a long, uneventful and boring year it`s been(in my personal life).
The only thing I managed to do was (barely) passing the graduation exams, and getting accepted into the university. Generally speaking, my country, Slovenia has also been hit hard by the worldwide recession, the government along with an incompetent party leading it, and an even more incompetent president of said party running it. There`s also been a lot of bankrupt factories and greedy businessmen, causing strikes and protests from the underpaid workers...and also that goddamned swine flu outbreak everywhere.
A lot of famous people died havent`t they? Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, and recently Brittany Murphy (R.I.P. to everyone), just to name a few.
Of course, I`ve kind of shut the outside world out (maybe I shouldn`t`ve, I`ll try to fix that this year)...and my obsessions with music, comedy and artists involved with both got even deeper...
I forgot to mention!!! I went to a Muse concert on November 21st, yes I`ve seen one of the best live acts at the moment, live, in action on a cold November night, in a rowdy Italian crowd. I survived...as well as enjoyed every second of it. I might give a review sometime in the future.
I hope that year, 2010 will be better for our country and me. I think it just might, this year is the Chinese year of the Tiger, and although I don`t know what it means for me yet, or the year 2010 in general...I hope it proves to be exciting and better for everyone.
And here is my list of New Year`s resolutions (ya like I`ll actually follow them through, I`ll be lucky enough to try to write into this without getting bored)
1.Get a job
2.Pass 1st year of uni
3.Get involved (school projects, culture centers)
4.Try to make friends (haha...yeah right), and learn how to talk to people
5.Concentrate!!
6.Save money and got to Helldone for next New Year`s (at all costs!!!)
7.Start thinking about foreign exchange programs/au pair.
8.Stop worrying so much (really my hair`s getting grey)
9.Pay more visits to grandma (father`s side)
10.Loosen up (my buttons baby...jkjk!!)
I hope everyone has a fun, happy, eventful and fulfilling year of 2010!!!!!!one!!!!!!1
*Steps off stage, wipes tear, hugs everyone.*
Bye the bye...
P.S.: Is my punctuation terrible, or what?!? I`ll learn one day...
